Ingredients

  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 4 c. scalded milk, not boiled
  • 2 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 10 to 12 slices dry white bread
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs, add milk, sugar and vanilla and stir well together.
  2. Add softened butter and mix with dry bread which has been broken into small pieces or cubed.
