Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed

Instructions

  1. Combine shortening, butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add shredded coconut.
  3. Pour the mixture on a warm cake and spread evenly.
  4. Place the cake under the broiler, not too close, and broil slowly until golden brown.
  5. Cut into squares and serve hot or cold.
