Delicious broiled crabmeat canapes combine rich cheese, buttery spread, and savory crab on toasted muffins, perfect as elegant appetizers for gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine
  • 5 oz Old English cheese
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp seasoned salt
  • 7 oz crabmeat, flaked
  • 6 English muffins, split

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, blend together softened butter and cheese.
  2. Stir in the mayonnaise, garlic salt, seasoned salt, and crabmeat.
  3. Spread the mixture on muffin halves.
  4. Cut each muffin into four pieces.
  5. Spread the pieces on a cookie sheet and freeze.
  6. Place in plastic bags until ready to serve.
  7. At serving time, broil until brown and bubbly.
