Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Line a large brown grocery bag with parchment paper or set aside a large brown paper bag for mixing.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup oleo (butter) over medium heat.
  3. Add 1/4 cup light corn syrup and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the melted oleo and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  4. Boil the mixture for about 3-4 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove from heat and pour the caramel mixture over 4 quarts of popped popcorn, removing any unpopped kernels.
  6. Quickly toss or stir to coat all the popcorn evenly with the caramel.
