Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 (16 oz.) cans whole green beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon and onion in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring often, until bacon is crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and onion with a slotted spoon, reserving 1/4 cup of drippings in the pan.
  3. Drain bacon and onions on paper towels; set aside.
  4. Combine sugar and vinegar; pour into the reserved drippings and bring to a boil.
  5. Add drained green beans; cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.
  6. Spoon into a serving dish; top with bacon and onions.
