Ingredients

  • 3 lb. cooked and drained ground chuck
  • 4 oz. sour cream
  • 1 large onion, chopped and caramelized
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1/4 c. cooking oil (give or take a little)
  • 3 Tbsp. self-rising flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare burger and onions together, set aside.
  2. In large heavy pot pour cooking oil, flour, salt and pepper to season. There needs to be enough oil so the flour is not crumbly but smooth.
  3. Stir continuously until brown.
  4. Add broth and possibly water until you get a gravy thickness but not too thick.
  5. Add burger and onions to gravy mixture, combining well, then add sour cream slowly, stirring continuously.
  6. Serve on top of cooked egg noodles, rice or scalloped potatoes.
  7. You may use stew beef instead of burger.
  8. You also can add cooked mushrooms.
