Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. walnut halves

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, sugar, and sour cream in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until it boils.
  3. Continue cooking to the soft-ball stage (240° on candy thermometer).
  4. Stir in salt and vanilla.
  5. Pour hot candy over walnuts in a mixing bowl.
  6. Mix until walnuts are evenly coated.
  7. Spoon out onto waxed paper.
  8. Separate nuts.
  9. Allow to cool and set.
