Ingredients

  • 6 cups thinly sliced cooking apples
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon red-hot candies
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss together apples, walnuts, candies, 2/3 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup flour.
  2. Pour the mixture into a frozen pie crust.
  3. Break or crumble the second pie crust and toss with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  4. Sprinkle the crumbled crust over the apple mixture.
