Cape Cod Clam Boil

Ingredients

  • 4 lb. clams
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 sausages
  • 4 linguica (Portuguese sausage)
  • 4 ears of corn
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
  • 4 onions
  • 4 sweet potatoes

Instructions

  1. Peel onions, shuck corn and scrub potatoes.
  2. Put all ingredients, except clams and lobsters, in individual cheesecloth bags (corn in one, onion in another, etc.).
  3. In a very large pot, barely cover bottom with water, just enough to make steam.
  4. Put clams on bottom, all bagged ingredients next, lobsters on top. Sprinkle with Old Bay Seasoning.
  5. Put one uncooked potato on top[. Cover and cook about one hour.
  6. When potatoes on top is done, boil should be ready.
  7. Serve with melted butter.
