Caramel Bread

A rich, caramel-flavored bread pudding with a sweet brown sugar and vanilla pudding sauce, perfect for sharing as a decadent dessert or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or oleo
  • 1 large package vanilla pudding (not instant)
  • 2 tablespoons cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Thaw the bread dough without letting it rise.
  2. Break up one loaf of bread dough and place it in the bottom of a Bundt pan.
  3. Heat brown sugar, butter, vanilla pudding, and milk until dissolved, but do not boil.
  4. Pour the warm mixture over the broken bread chunks in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Add broken chunks from the second loaf of bread and sprinkle with cinnamon again.
  7. Let the mixture rise before baking.
