Ingredients

  • 14 oz. package of caramels
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • Pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the caramels with 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the Rice Chex and Corn Chex together.
  3. Pour the melted caramel over the cereal mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Add pecans if desired and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and stir the mixture to break apart clumps.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely in the pan.
  10. Break into pieces and serve.
