Sweet caramel ribbon bars combine a buttery cake base with chocolate and caramel toppings, perfect for satisfying dessert cravings or sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 (2 layer size) pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 (5 1/3 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix and chopped walnuts.
  2. Stir in evaporated milk and melted butter or margarine.
  3. Spread about half of the cake mixture in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over hot crust.
  6. Drizzle with caramel topping.
