Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallows, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate bits
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine evaporated milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Heat to boiling, then cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat. Add chopped nuts, diced marshmallows, chocolate bits, and vanilla extract.
  4. Beat vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes until well blended.
  5. Pour the mixture into a buttered 8 or 9-inch square pan.
  6. Top with whole or chopped nuts if desired.
