Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped dates
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 12 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 34 cup oleo
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 34 cups flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 cups oatmeal

Instructions

  1. Combine dates, 1/4 sugar and water over low heat until thickened, cool.
  2. Add vanilla and set aside while preparing crust.
  3. Mix oleo and sugar.
  4. add the rest of ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  5. Press half of crumbs in bottom of 9x13" pan.
  6. Cover with date mixture and top with remaining crumbs and pat down.
  7. Bake at 400 Degrees for 25-30 minute.
