Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Velveeta shells and cheese dinner
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
  • 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped tomato
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Velveeta shells and cheese dinner as directed on the package.
  2. Add drained chopped green chilies to the prepared cheese mixture.
  3. Brown and drain the ground beef or turkey.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and water into the meat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
  5. Combine the cheese mixture with the meat mixture and place in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  6. Bake the casserole at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  7. Before serving, top with sour cream and chopped tomato.
