Ingredients

  • 12 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 dashes salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the grated Cheddar, softened butter, self-rising flour, sugar, and salt with your hands until well combined.
  2. Optionally, let the mixture sit in the refrigerator overnight or until ready to use for easier rolling.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a cookie sheet.
  4. Press a whole pecan into the center of each ball.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 to 17 minutes until golden.
  6. Cool on wax paper before serving.
