Cherry Angel Delight

A light, fluffy cherry-flavored dessert with layers of angel food cake, creamy topping, and cherry pie filling, perfect for parties and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 large angel food cake
  • 3 c. whipped topping, prepared
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Blend the granulated sugar with the cream cheese until smooth; fold in the whipped topping. Tint with red food coloring if desired.
  2. Split the angel food cake into 3 layers.
  3. Spread a small amount of topping and some cherry pie filling on the first layer.
  4. Place the second layer on top and repeat with remaining topping and cherry pie filling, reserving about 2/3 of the pie filling for garnish.
  5. Place the third layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining topping.
  6. Carefully spoon the remaining cherry pie filling on top of the frosted cake.
  7. Refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight before serving.
