Ingredients

  • 8 or 9-inch baked pie shell
  • 1 package vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
  • 1/2 package whipped topping mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling, drained

Instructions

  1. Bake the pie shell and let it cool.
  2. In a 2 1/2-quart bowl, beat the vanilla instant pudding, pie filling, whipped topping mix, milk, and almond extract on low speed until blended.
  3. Increase the speed to high and beat until soft peaks form, about 3 minutes.
  4. Fold in the drained cherry pie filling.
  5. Pour the filling into the baked pie shell.
  6. Refrigerate until the pie is firm, at least 2 hours.
  7. Serve each slice topped with 1/2 cup of reserved cherry syrup.
