Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 5 to 5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • melted butter
  • onion salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl of an electric mixer, sprinkle the yeast over the warm water and stir to dissolve.
  2. At medium speed, beat in honey, then gradually beat in 3 cups of flour; beat well.
  3. With a heavy-duty mixer or wooden spoon, gradually add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Knead on a lightly floured board until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes, adding more flour as necessary.
