Chocolate-Bourbon Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine egg, bourbon, lemon juice, and vanilla in a small mixing bowl; stir until well blended. Set aside.
  2. Cream butter in a medium mixing bowl; add chocolate, and beat until blended. Gradually add sugar to chocolate mixture alternately with bourbon mixture, beating until mixture is smooth.
