Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine sliced, peeled apples, apple cider, and lemon juice in a 3-quart saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer until apples are tender, about 20 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, salt, and ground nutmeg; cook for 1 minute longer.
  4. Break up apples into chunks.
  5. Cool and refrigerate until serving time.
