Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 c. Flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 3/4 c. Salt
  • 3 Tbsp. Shortening
  • 3/4 c. Milk

Instructions

  1. Measure flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening thoroughly until mixture looks like meal.
  3. Stir in milk.
  4. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot meat or vegetables in boiling stew, being careful not to drop directly into liquid.
  5. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
  6. Cover and cook about 10 minutes longer or until dumplings are fluffy.
