Ingredients

  • 50 to 60 pickling cucumbers
  • 2 cups pickling salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop 50 to 60 pickling cucumbers into 1/4 to 3/4 inch slices and put into a 5-gallon stone jar.
  2. Mix 2 cups pickling salt with 1 gallon boiling water and pour over the cucumbers.
  3. Ensure that the cucumbers are completely submerged in the brine.
  4. Add more brine mixture until the cucumbers are fully covered, using an upside-down plate to keep them submerged if necessary.
  5. Let stand for 7 complete days.
