- Heat oven to 250°.
- Chop the chocolate; put into ovenproof pan and melt the chocolate, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Remove chocolate and increase temperature to 325°.
- Butter 9-inch square baking pan.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt with electric mixer; beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs 1 at a time.
- Slowly beat in chocolate, then the vanilla.
- Reduce speed to low.
- Beat in flour mixture until mixed, then add walnuts.
- Put in pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
