Instructions
- Add scalded milk to sugar, salt and shortening.
- Cool to lukewarm, then add cake of yeast.
- Add eggs, flour, cinnamon, raisins and nuts.
- Knead lightly on floured board, place in a greased bowl and let raise double, approx. 2 hrs.
- Punch down and let raise for 1 hour.
- Make dough into 2 braids and let raise double again.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Spread with blended powdered sugar and brown sugar icing while hot.
