Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 tablespoons white Karo
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, water, and Karo in a saucepan and bring to a boil until the mixture spins a thread.
  2. Stir the mixture and watch it to prevent boiling over.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff using an electric mixer.
  4. Slowly add the hot syrup in a small stream into the egg whites while beating on high speed.
  5. Continue beating until the mixture stands in peaks.
  6. Add sifted confectioners sugar and beat until well incorporated.
