Commander'S Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, about 14 inches long
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (One stick)
  • 2 garlic cloves, mashed to a puree
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Slice bread lengthwise.
  3. Melt butter in a small skillet, add garlic, and heat gently for two minutes.
  4. Brush the melted butter generously on the cut sides of the bread halves; sprinkle with the dill and cheese.
  5. Bake until golden and very hot, 5 to 8 minutes.
  6. Cut each half crosswise into 1 inch slices and serve immediately with appetizers, salads, or soups.
