Communion Wine

A traditional homemade communion wine made from muscadines, offering a sweet, fruity flavor perfect for religious ceremonies or special gatherings with friends.

Ingredients

  • 20 lb muscadines
  • 5 qt boiling water
  • 10 c sugar

Instructions

  1. Crush the muscadine berries.
  2. Place the crushed berries in a large stoneware crock.
  3. Add boiling water to the crock with the berries.
  4. Cover the crock with a lid and let it set for 3 days.
  5. After 3 days, strain the juice and discard the pulp.
  6. Add sugar to the strained juice.
  7. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  8. Pour the juice into an air-locked container and let it ferment for 3 months.
  9. Bottle the wine and store in a cool place or serve at your gathering.
