Cranberry-Orange Nutbread

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. coarsely cut cranberries
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 c. orange juice

Instructions

  1. Sift together dry ingredients.
  2. Stir in cranberries, nuts and orange peel.
  3. Combine egg, orange juice and Crisco oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
  4. Bake in a greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch pan at 350° for 50 minutes, or until done.
