Ingredients

  • 2 lb. small, tender green or wax beans
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 heads dill
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. salt

Instructions

  1. Stem beans and pack uniformly and tightly in hot jars.
  2. To each jar, add 1/4 teaspoon pepper flakes, 1 clove garlic, and 1 head dill.
  3. Heat water, salt, and vinegar together until boiling.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Pour the hot brine over the beans in the jars.
  6. Adjust lids on the jars immediately.
  7. Process the jars in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
  8. Remove jars from the canner and allow to cool.
  9. Chill well before serving.
