Crystal Candy is a vibrant, hard candy with a crunchy texture and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for festive occasions or as a colorful homemade treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 5 drops red food coloring
  • 3/4 tsp. oil of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a large Dutch oven.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Stir in red food coloring.
  4. Continue to cook, without stirring, until mixture reaches hard crack stage or 300° on candy thermometer.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in oil of cinnamon.
  6. Working rapidly, spread mixture onto oiled 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
  7. Let cool. Break into pieces.
