Cuban Ham Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 ham steak, diced
  • 1 green pepper, finely diced
  • 1 red pepper, finely diced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 (12 ounce) packages crescent rolls
  • 34 cup apricot jam

Instructions

  1. Buy the large, thick ham steak with the bone in and dice, removing the bone and fat.
  2. Finely dice the onion & peppers.
  3. Heat oil in large skillet and start to saute ham.
  4. then add onions and peppers and cook till softened.
  5. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  6. Let filling cool, then put a spoonful on the short end of each crescent, then roll to seal.
  7. Bake according to roll pkg directions.
  8. Melt jam in microwave till spreadable.
  9. Brush on rolls during the last 3-4 minutes.
  10. Any laftover filling can be used in scambled eggs or tossed into hot pasta.
