Ingredients

  • 3 beaten egg yolks
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine beaten egg yolks, salt, and sugar in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Gradually stir in scalded milk, mixing well.
  3. Place the mixture over a double boiler with hot water.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture coats a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  6. Chill before serving.
