Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup rice
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix rice, water, milk, butter, and salt in a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Beat eggs and sugar together until well combined.
  4. Slowly stir the egg mixture into the cooked rice mixture.
  5. Add vanilla extract, and optionally, raisins if desired.
