Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup mixed candied fruits
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together until well blended.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  3. Mix in the butter and sugar mixture, then add flour, almond extract, and candied fruits.
  4. Butter and flour a loaf pan or a Bundt pan to prevent sticking.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 1/2 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes.
  8. Transfer the cake to a serving dish and enjoy.
