Decadent Chocolate Cherry Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • 1 cup sweet cherries, pitted and chopped (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 34 cups hot water
  • 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups cubed chocolate bread
  • 12 cup dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In large bowl, beat eggs; add sweetened condensed milk, cherries, water, butter, and vanilla.
  3. Stir in bread and dried cherries, moistening completely.
  4. Turn into buttered 9-inch square baking pan.
  5. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
  6. Cool.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
  8. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.
