Deep Fried Twinkies

- Chill the twinkie by keeping it in the refrigerator.
- DO NOT FREEZE.
- Mix the flours and baking soda together.
- Add milk or beer (beer gives lighter results) until you get a batter with the consistency of thin cream.
- Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will brown in a few seconds, but do not allow oil to smoke. Remove the twinkie from refrigerator, coat completely in the batter.
- Lower into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Can sprinkle fried twinkie with powered sugar, cinnamon or add some fruit toppings.
- Kids like theirs topped with chocolate syrup.
