Ingredients

  • 1 large Bermuda onion
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the onion and separate into rings.
  2. Place the onion rings in a small bowl or pack into a 2-cup jar.
  3. Combine sugar, salt, dill weed, vinegar, and water in a small pan and bring to a boil to dissolve the sugar and salt.
  4. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the onion rings, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  5. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
