Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the dumpling ingredients: 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small bowl.
  2. Stir well until the batter is smooth.
  3. Toward the end of cooking the stew, drop spoonfuls of the batter on top of the boiling stew.
  4. Cover tightly and cook for about 12 minutes.
  5. Turn the dumplings over and cook for a few more minutes until cooked through.
  6. Let simmer if desired, and reduce the stew to a slow cook from this point.
