A savory meat pie featuring seasoned chopped meat and rich gravy baked in flaky pastry shells, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen pie shells
  • 1.5 lb chopped meat
  • 1 can brown gravy with onions
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Defrost two pie shells.
  2. Cover chopped meat with water in a frying pan and cook until browned.
  3. Drain all water from the meat.
  4. Add canned or jarred gravy with onions to the meat and cook until heated through.
  5. Pour the meat and gravy mixture into one pie shell.
  6. Cover with the second pie shell and seal the edges.
  7. Brush the top crust with beaten egg and cut 4 or 5 slits on top for ventilation.
  8. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 40 minutes until golden brown.
