  • 4 medium onions
  • margarine to taste

  2. Saute with margarine, 2 chopped onions, and approximately 1/2 pound ground beef until golden brown.

  5. Add seasoning from the salad mix.

Tips & Substitutions

For a flavorful twist, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef. If you prefer a vegetarian option, try using lentils or chickpeas instead. Make sure to soak the wheat salad mix adequately to soften it, and sauté until the onions are caramelized for a richer flavor. Adding some spices like cumin or paprika can enhance the dish, similar to flavors found in Holupki - Stuffed Cabbage.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Easy Kibe warm, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or mint. It pairs beautifully with a side of yogurt or a fresh salad for a refreshing contrast. Consider serving it alongside rice or pita bread for a complete meal. For a heartier option, try it with Cabbage Rolls With Beef or a rich Bourdeaulaise Sauce.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the kibe in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, you can microwave it in short intervals, stirring in between, until warm.
