Ingredients

  • 15 1/4 oz. can unsweetened crushed pineapple (undrained)
  • 1 1/4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 12 oz. can lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled
  • 3/4 cup evaporated skimmed milk

Instructions

  1. Drain crushed pineapple, reserving 3/4 cup juice.
  2. Set pineapple aside.
  3. Combine reserved pineapple juice, 1 1/4 cups pineapple juice, and sugar in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat; simmer, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes, or until sugar dissolves.
  5. Pour into a large bowl; cover and chill.
  6. Stir in chilled lemon-lime carbonated beverage and evaporated skimmed milk.
  7. Pour into freezer container of a 5-quart freezer and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Transfer to a large bowl; fold in crushed pineapple.
  9. Store in freezer until ready to serve.
