Ingredients

  • 2 C. warm water
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1/4 C. soft shortening
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 6 1/2 to 7 C. sifted all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, soft shortening, and egg.
  3. Mix in sifted all-purpose flour until the dough is easy to handle; no kneading needed.
  4. Grease the top of the dough and place it in the refrigerator.
  5. Shape the dough about 2 hours before serving.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 to 15 minutes.
