Soft, fluffy homemade rolls with a slightly sweet flavor, perfect for breakfast or dinner. They are easy to make and ideal for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar, and salt.
  3. Pour 1 cup hot water over the creamed mixture and stir.
  4. Cool the mixture.
  5. Add yeast mixture and eggs; stir well.
  6. Gradually add flour and knead the dough.
  7. Place dough in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate. Pinch off as needed.
  8. Shape into rolls, brush with melted butter, and let rise.
  9. Bake at 450°F for 12 minutes until brown.
