Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 thick loin chops
  • salt
  • pepper
  • white dinner wine
  • onions, quartered

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from pork chops.
  2. Brown chops in a heavy skillet and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add white dinner wine to half cover the meat.
  4. Arrange quartered onions around the chops and sprinkle with chopped garlic.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for about 1 hour or until the meat is fork-tender.
  6. Add more wine if needed during baking.
  7. Serve with rice.
