Egg Layer Casserole

Ingredients

  • 12 pieces loaf bread, buttered on both sides
  • 1 lb. pork sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 6 pieces of buttered bread on bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Sprinkle with 1/2 sausage and then cover with 1/2 of cheese. Repeat layer one.
  3. Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
  4. Pour over layers and cover.
  5. Set in refrigerator for at least 3 hours, but best to set overnight.
  6. Bake at 350° until browned.
