Ingredients

  • 2 gallons vinegar
  • 10 cents white mace
  • 10 cents mustard seed
  • 10 cents whole allspice
  • 10 cents saccharin
  • 10 cents alum

Instructions

  1. Put vinegar, white mace, mustard seed, allspice, saccharin, and alum in a stone crock.
  2. Add washed cucumbers from the garden gradually as they are gathered.
  3. Allow the cucumbers to cure in the brine for 8 days before using.
