Everyday Salsa
Ingredients
- 1 large onion cut in half and thinly sliced ⓘ
- 1 stalk celery diced ⓘ
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped ⓘ
- 7 mushrooms, sliced ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons chili powder ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon cumin ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 1 48oz can diced tomatoes + 1/2can water
- 2 tablespoons mixed italian herbs, Oregano thyme basil parsley ⓘ
Instructions
- Water saute onion, garlic, celery and mushrooms in large nonstick pan for 5 min. Add chili powder,cumin and pepper.Cook 1 or 2 min more to release flavors. Add tomatoes, water and herbs. Stir together. Lower heat,cover with screen lid and simmer for half hour to reduce liquids.
- This very versitile sauce can be used on vegi burgers, with beans, in wraps,and even on salads when used cold. I have it in the fridge always.
