Ingredients

  • 18.25 oz. package spice or carrot cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup apple butter
  • 2 cups coarse chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine cake mix, water, eggs, vegetable oil, and apple butter in a large bowl.
  3. Beat at low speed until blended, then continue at medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  6. Cool completely.
  7. Spread Maple Buttercream Frosting all over the cake.
  8. Press coarse chopped walnuts into the sides of the cake.
