Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 pounds chopped steak or chicken
  • 3/4 cup onion
  • 3/4 cup bell pepper
  • 1 small jar pimentos
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom or chicken soup
  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the chopped steak or boil the chicken until cooked through.
  2. Sauté the onions and bell peppers until tender.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat, sautéed vegetables, cooked rice, pimentos, cream of mushroom or chicken soup, and soy sauce.
  4. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, covered.
